In celebration of the first year celebrating the Eurpean Restart a Heart Day, set by the European Resurcitation Council, the teaching faculty of the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science of UTH come together to design and implement accredited CPR workshops. The workshops have been approved by medical professionals and were designed to be taught to people without prior knowledge on the subject. The participants were taught basics such as how to contact the emergency services and how to effectively communicate the situation, CPR technique and how to stay safe themselves throughout the process. There were also demonstrations on how to use an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). Dr. Polyzou, MD. and Dr. Karatzaferi, PhD. from our lab were also implicated in the designing and implementation of these workshops.
